The International Cannabis Business Conference is coming back to Zurich, Switzerland from August 31st to September 1st, 2021.
After the tremendous success of our previous cannabis industry B2B event in Zurich, we are excited to host our Global Investment Forum series for the first time in Switzerland.
The event will take place at the world-renowned 5-star Dolder Grand Hotel.
“Switzerland’s emerging legal cannabis industry is very unique, with its own challenges and opportunities,” says Alex Rogers, founder of the International Cannabis Business Conference. “A major hurdle for entrepreneurs is finding investors, and the same is true for investors looking for quality, vetted opportunities in Switzerland. We are looking forward to helping both sides of the equation bridge that gap.”
Cannabis is still technically illegal in Switzerland in many instances, however, recent reforms have created legal exceptions in some circumstances.
The most notable exception is for cannabis products that contain less than 1% THC, which have been legal in Switzerland and widely sold at stores since 2017.
The Swiss National Council recently approved a Federal Council proposal to amend the country’s narcotics law to make it easier for patients to access medical cannabis.
The amendment is awaiting the approval of the other legislative house, the Council of States.
If/when the measure is approved it will drastically change Switzerland’s legal cannabis industry landscape.
In general, there has been less investor interest directed at Switzerland’s emerging cannabis industry historically compared to other countries, however, that is changing rapidly.
Thanks to recent reforms, talented entrepreneurs are pursuing truly innovative ideas and making Switzerland a top cannabis industry investment target for investors from around the globe.
